High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

Bachelor's Degree in Science or in a related field.

5 years of construction and/or fiber optic experience.

3 years of supervisory experience.

Bucket truck certification preferred.

Requires a Valid Commercial Driver's License Class "A" (subject to motor vehicle review).


Improves staff effectiveness by counseling and training for employees; planning, delegating, monitoring, and appraising job tasks and results in a timely manner.

Develop measurable performance expectations for assigned projects according to department goals and objectives.

Analyzes and resolves work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

Assigns staff daily duties and evaluates performance of workers. Follows up on status and projects of jobs.

Develops work-around procedures for maintain crew productivity during delays caused by other trades, customer, lack of materials, absenteeism, etc.

Implements, tests, directs field crews, and maintains all fiber connectivity through weekly, daily scheduling to insure timely customer connections.

Supervises and manages the deployment, splicing, testing, and certification of new fiber installation and work with NTUA Network Operations Center.

Supervises and manages fiber lead tech, fiber technicians in constructing fiber (aerial or underground) for customers per schedules/contracts.

Coordinates and approves all close outs for completed projects for proper documentation.

Maintains all documentation on Network Topology

Maintains all daily time, vehicle usage and documentation for crew.

Communicates with the supervisor and involved in the budgetary mandates for the fiber optics environment.

Assists in the scheduling of fiber optic implementation, upgrades, and ensure monitoring of the fiber optic system.

Communicates with NTUA personnel on the importance of fiber optics, both internally and externally, and its importance at NTUA.

Monitors quality assurance and ensures installations meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Reports, coordinates and supervises all aspects of a project.

Ensures all projects are completed within established timeframes, within budget and in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies related to construction management and contract administration.

Performs other duties as assigned.
